The results showed the superiority of drip irrigation compared to surface irrigation by furrows, with a fruits yield increasing and water irrigation saving and water use efficiency WUE increasing for the studied tomato genotypes (T11613, T11780, T11778, THybrid),
With an increase ratio in yield by (15.03, 21.29, 19.35, 16.7) % respectively, with an irrigation water saving ratio by (45.4, 45.23, 45.81, 45.12) %, and increase ratio in water use efficiency WUE by (53.6, 56.2, 56.9, 52,7) % ,respectively in the drip irrigation method compared to surface irrigation method. Also the use of drip
irrigation resulted in a significant increase in dry matter by (9, 4.7, 7, 7.42) %, and total dissolved solids by (25.8, 19.6, 18.9, 19)%, And acidity by (15.9, 7.14, 9, 8.33) %, in addition to an total sugar by (17.86, 13.33, 17.24, 20.51)%, with vitamin C fruits content by a ratio of (14.3, 18.8, 15.8, 14.5) % for the above mentioned genotypes respectively. In the domain of genotypes yield, the hybrid genotype
THybrid (Allegro) achieved the highest yield under drip irrigation with an average of 42.45 ton/ha, and a water use efficiency WUE of 9.183 kg/m3, While the local genotype T11780 achieved the highest yield increase ratio of 21.29%, while The local genotype T11778 has the highest water saving ratio of 45.81%, As for the impact of irrigation methods on fruits specific properties. the hybrid genotype THybrid (Allegro) achieved the highest dry matter ratio with 10.81%, While small-size fruit varieties (T11780 and T11778) which were irrigated under drip irrigation method, were superior in the domain of total dissolved solids by (9.93 and 9.5)% respectively, and by the pH of (0.7 and 0.67) respectively, and by a total sugar content of (6 and 5.8)% respectively, where fruits vitamin C content reached to (26.1 and 25.4) mg / 100 g, respectively.

Keywords: Drip irrigation, Furrow irrigation, Tomato, Water use efficiency WUE, Yield, Qualitative indicators

Braa Shaheen General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research ,Administration of Natural Resources.
