{"id":1494,"date":"2018-07-25T10:03:04","date_gmt":"2018-07-25T10:03:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/gcsar.gov.sy\/en\/?page_id=1494"},"modified":"2018-07-25T10:03:04","modified_gmt":"2018-07-25T10:03:04","slug":"amgad-farah-master","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/gcsar.gov.sy\/en\/masters\/amgad-farah-master\/","title":{"rendered":"Factors affecting soft wood cuttings propagation of <em>Gardenia jasminoides<\/em>"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Amgad Farah<\/strong><br \/>\nGeneral Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research ,Administration of Horticulture.<br \/>\nFaculty of Agriculture, <strong>Damascus<\/strong> University<br \/>\n2018<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this study, the soft wood cuttings <em>Gardenia Jasminoides<\/em> of length (8-10 cm) was treated at four different concentrations of the hormone Indole Byotric Acid (IBA) (2000 -4000 &#8211; 6000 \u2013 8000 ppm) in addition to the control and then entrench within three rooting mediums (Sand, Perlite, Volcanic Tuff) , In\u00a0 three dates (April, June, August).<br \/>\nThe results showed\u00a0 the positive effect\u00a0 of the hormone concentration of the IBA in promoting the response of cuttings in rooting. The concentration 4000 ppm has given\u00a0 the best results in terms of its effect on the characteristics of root mass. The rooting rate was 63.3% and the average root length was 1.80 cm compared with the rest of the concentrations and also with the control. The concentration 4000 ppm\u00a0 also exceeded\u00a0 the rest of the treatments and control\u00a0\u00a0 treatment\u00a0 too ,where\u00a0 the number of roots reached 20.6 .<br \/>\nThe results showed that the best date of taking cuttings was\u00a0 in April which significantly overcome the rest of other dates by giving\u00a0 the best ratio of the attributes of shoot, reaching the percentage of rooting to 63.8%\u00a0 and also by giving\u00a0\u00a0 the best\u00a0 qualities of shoot comparing with the rest treatment, where the number of average roots was 15.63 root , their average length was1.46 cm.<br \/>\nAs for rooting mediums, the medium sandy showed a clear superiority and significant differences on the rest of the other mediums\u00a0 in the percentage, length, number and diameter of the root.<br \/>\nIn studying the interaction between the three factors, it was found that sandy remained the best medium in all times\u00a0 by giving it the best qualities of the root growth, especially when using the concentration of 4000 ppm.<br \/>\nPeatmoss\u00a0 recorded a significant increase over all the medium used for the growth indicators studied after the rooting of the soft cutting of the Gardenia \u00a0plant.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key words<\/strong>:<em> Gardenia jasminoides<\/em><strong>,<\/strong> Indole Byotric Acid<strong>,<\/strong> soft cutting.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Amgad Farah General Commission for Scientific Agricultural Research ,Administration of Horticulture.
